Bow Drill Time!

Ok Bow drill time! In order to make a successful bow drill for friction fire, your gonna need, a "socket", cordage, bow, spindle, fire board and something to catch the embers. First find a stick about 1in thick. (It needs to have a slight bow to it) Measure the length using your arm. Start from the inside of your elbow, measuring to the tip of your long finger and cut. Cut 2 knotches, one on each end of stick, with knotches facing in. Take about two feet of parachord and tie a knot on one end. Secure knot in one knotch and extend and place in second knotch. Wrap excess chord around bow. Take a dried log about the size of your wrist and about 15in long, and split, keeping the middle about 3/4ins thick. Take small stick about 1in thick and about 9in long. Shave bark off and shave each end to a point. (Not too sharp though) Take about 3in off your fire board for your socket, and cut a small divot in the center. Cut small divot in fire board and cut a "V"shape close to divot like I have done. You now have the proper tools to make a bow drill friction fire! For instructions on how to use this, I will later be posting a video on how to make a friction fire. Stay tuned!!!!
